RELEASE INFO DUB YOU CRAZY WITH LOVE PT2....DUB BALLADS. Went to war, fought the battle, chant down babylon, light up chalice burn down weed, ain't reached Africa, but the dream continues, frustration rises, need to keep kool, don't want to kill, don't want to steal, but there is a big need to ease the pressure!!!! Dub you crazy with love!! Dub music with a mood from smooth, relaxing almost R&B flavoured soulful reggae, to firm, persusive romantic steppers, the kind that were the main stay of many a house party and blues dance since the midseventies, when British Reggae first came into it's own identity.
'Lovers Rock' first identified as a label from the Brockley based Dip Studios run by Dennis Harris, with musicians like John Kypie, Dennis Bovell, Jah Bunny, Fish Salmon, supplying the foundation of songs for the likes of Sonia, Brown Sugar, TT Ross, and many more teenage artists who were proud of their unique Afro/Anglo/Caribbean culture. In the eighties,Ariwa Sounds maintained the lovers rock legacy with hits like: 'Country Living', 'Bold over', 'Stop look, listen', 'Stand By', 'Mellow', and many more. Nineties lovers rock found it hard to survive in a climate where many radio DJs did not understand the important significance this music represented, nor did they understood the industry that existed as a direct result of the popularity of this music. These DJs did not understand that whilst it wasn't as commanding as dancehall in the dance, it was certainly the music listened to at home, when relaxing with one's loved ones. DUB YOU CRAZY WITH LOVE is the dub mixes of many lovers rock hits of the past decade. Continuing on the popularity of Part 1 ARI CD124 (released 1996), this CD is made to bridge the gap that exist between dub and lovers fans. Every freedom fighter, every roots man needs sometime to love. So relax, sit back, pour some remy, or light up, next to your loved one and allow yourself to be Dubbed!!! Crazy!!!!! With Love****** |
