RELEASE INFO Mad Professor's ARIWA label - in association with RUNN Records International - presents the debut album "Moroccan Sunrise" by a group called "Borrah". The experimental journey through Mad Professor's extreme styles continues with this album. Built on a strong drum & bass axis with the old 70's style funky beats. Borrah isn't exactly what we call an European outfit. This brand new group consists of personnel with a northern African cultural background. The musicians are Moroccans who live in Belgium for a long time. They became known as members of Panache Culture and have more than 10 years experience in Rai-Reggae music. The album is recorded at RUNN Studio in Maastricht, the Netherlands, by four brothers named Hamra Hassan, Hamra Abdelfetah, Hamra Mohammed, and Hamra Aziz. Also present is a musician from Italy, Arthuro Valiente. When together they are known as Borrah, producing a style of music which is very infectious, but totally unclassified as they blend drum and bass with reggae, funk, dub, hip hop, gnawa and trance into a brand new sound that doesn't sound computerized because they use "live" drums, acoustic bass and guitar on several tracks. The final result is a nice and appealing "live" mix of different flavours. This is music with a strong message, delivered with an open mind for different cultural backgrounds. Borrah delivers an album with 17 solid tracks. Check it out and surprise your eardrums with the new sound of the next millenium !!! |
