BRAND NEW!!! 2002 RELEASE!!!... OUT JUNE 2002

From the Scottish Highlands to the South Island of New Zealand, the Lee Scratch Perry phenomenon has affected a variety of people. kings, queens, students, workers, Indians, Africans, Chinese, Japanese, Flemish, Irish, Americans, Canadians…People of all nations have attended or would like to attend the Upsetter show. His peers and (ex) musicians tend to observe the happenings with awe and amazement and envy. "How does he do it?" is a typical question. The fact that the sixty something year old gentleman with the multicoloured hair and punkish attire can out sell and upstage most other reggae artists is something most folks can't come to terms with. The fact that the audiences are getting younger and younger is firm proof that the Lee Scratch Perry has truly arrived at a legendary status reserved for few. Of all his protégés, only Bob Marley has eclipsed the profile of Pipecock Jackson. Purist fans locked into the Black Ark era, may be disappointed that he is not producing on his Teac 4 track machine, but Lee Perry has long outgrown that stage. The truth is that those records other than the few clear hits were not greatly appreciated at their time of release is easily forgotten. The fact that running a recording studio from one's home in Kingston, and issuing records is clearly a business activity equivalent to selling oranges on the Gaza Strip.
