AISHA... THE QUEEN OF THE ROOTS DAUGHTERS. A VERY ENERGETIC PERFORMER.
Born in 1967, Wolverhampton, England, Aisha - real name Pamela Ross - began singing at the tender age of eight. She built a significant following in and around the Midlands through her live performances. Instead of singing sweet, soulful covers of R&B hits, which is usually done by many reggae divas, she prefered to perform roots music from the very first moment. In the late 80s Aisha teamed up with the Mad Professor and released "Prophecy" on his 'Ariwa Sounds' label. This success led to other recording sessions with female vocalists, performing conscientious lyrics and culminating with the Roots Daughters series, in which Aisha featured alongside the revitalized Fabian, Kofi and Sandra Cross.
Aisha is a very energetic performer, which made that she often received great critical acclaim for her accomplished performances, captivating audiences wherever she appears. Aisha continues to pursue a career based on her assertion that "music comes from the root of love".
